Deprogramming
My Berlingo's lock button was not working for me recently. It worked fine for a time, but it then didn't respond to the key fob. The unlock button was still working though. I checked with Timpsons and Halfords who both advised that you can only deprogram the key fob by taking it to a dealer and trying anything else WILL RESULT in DOOM.
I then took out the negative cable and waited around 20 minutes to ensure the remaining power was completely drained. I then tried to reprogramme my key fob. I first had to make sure that all doors were locked with the key, and then I had to press and hold the large button for approximately 20 minutes. After pressing the large button, I let it go and then press the small button to secure the door. The LED now flashes continuously.
I then put in the ignition key and turned it into accessory position without turning off the engine. Then, I placed the Plip key toward the receiver at the front of the vehicle. I press the large plip switch followed by the smaller plip button on the remote. The Plip is now working. This should work if the key fob isn't responding to the remote.
