Deprogramming

My Berlingo's lock button has stopped working since a while. It worked for a little while, then stopped responding to the key fob. The unlock button worked however. I checked with Timpsons and Halfords, who both advised that you can only deprogram the key fob by going to a dealer, and that doing anything else will result in doom.

So I removed the battery cable that was negative and waited for 20 minutes or so to ensure that all residual power had been depleted. I then tried to reprogramme my key fob. First, I had ensure that all doors were locked using the key, then press and hold the large plip button for about 20 seconds. After pressing the large button, I let it go, and then pressed the small button to secure the door. The LED is now constantly lit.

I then inserted the key into the ignition and then turned it to accessory position without beginning the engine. Then, I placed the key in front of the receiver and hit both the large plip and small plip buttons on the remote. The Plip now works. This should fix the problem If your remote doesn't respond to your key fob.Subaru-logo.png
